It all started in 1986. I was a mere two
years old. In England, there was a film that was soon to be
released. It was based on a novel by Anthony C H Smith.
This movie was entitled Labyrinth
and it starred a 14 year old girl , Jennifer Connely, a 39 year
old man, David Bowie, and an infant, Toby Froud. Of course, at
the time, I did not know how significant it would become in my
life.
On a Friday night, four years after Labyrinth
was released, I was inivited to have a sleep over at my friends
house.
My friend, Kjersti Hanna, had borrowed Labyrinth
from one of her friends and she fell in love with it, she knew
that I would too. Little did she know how right she was.
That night, we watched Labyrinth.
I can still remember the haunting music at the opening vredits
that would alter become infamous to me.
Watching the movie gave me goosebumps and
sent a chill up my spine at certian parts. It was David Bowie
that pulled it all together for me. His eyes, so unusual.......so
physique, so flawless. He was beautiful.
Scince then, Labyrinth
has taken up 116 complete days of my life and I have learned
almost everything there is to know about David Bowie. They have
become my life and I don't think that I could ever give them up.
It's a bad addiction.
